Recipe: Sage Sawmill Gravy
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups whole milk
1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon finely chopped sage
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Melt butter in a 4-quart pot or cast iron skillet over medium heat. Stir in flour until a paste forms.
Cook, stiring constantly, until flour is a light golden color, 5 to 10 minutes. Add milk and whish vigorously.
