We Plan, You Plant
We know that sometimes you would like an expert to recommend plants that will work well in your specific garden area. We call this our “We Plan, You Plant” garden design consultation.
What It Is:
- A basic plant design appointment for one area of your yard/garden. For example, it may be a front garden bed or your pool area. Multiple areas will require multiple appointments. The appointment takes place at Kerby’s Nursery (we do not make house calls).
- Using a photo which you provide of the area, we will meet with you to choose plants and create an electronic sketch of your new look.
- We will recommend garden essentials to ensure success, such as soil and fertilizer.
- A complimentary service that requires the payment of a $450.00 store credit to set an appointment. This credit can then be used toward the plants you choose for the design or anything else Kerby’s sells.
- This service is for residences only.
What It Is Not:
- Not a full landscape design: we do not provide plant removal/garden prep, grass/sod, irrigation and lighting systems, water features, or blueprints.
- Not a planting service. We only install larger trees and shrubs (in 15-gallon pots or larger); delivery and installation fees apply.
- The $450.00 store credit is not a fee for the service, nor is it the cost of the project. Final cost estimates will vary depending on the plants you select, and the $450.00 store credit is meant to be used toward those plants.
- We do not liaison with HOAs (homeowners associations). Prior to engaging in the We Plan, You Plant service, you should have a full understanding of what your HOA or community will allow. You must have this information available at your appointment so together we can pick appropriate plants.

1. We Plan, You Plant consists of a garden design consultation at Kerby’s Nursery (approximately 50 minutes) to include the following:
- A consultation for one area of your yard; for example, the front of your home, your back yard, or a pool area. (To consult on multiple areas, please schedule an additional consultation for each area).
- A discussion of your responses to the We Plan, You Plant Questionnaire.
- Selecting the plants to meet your needs.
- A digital visual design of what your area will look like with the plants you select. This will also serve as a guide for planting.
- Recommendations for garden essentials to ensure success (such as soil and fertilizer).
- An email following your appointment with the digital design and a list of the plants (and any additional items, such as soil, fertilizer, pottery, etc.) that you have selected for the design.
2. The purchase of a $450 store credit is required to set an appointment. The $450 credit is a downpayment toward the plants for your gorgeous garden area. Note that it isn’t the cost of the project and final cost estimates will vary depending on the project.
3. After purchasing the $450 store credit, you will receive an email within 24 hours (excluding certain national holidays) with the link to the We Plan, You Plant Questionnaire. This form will ask you for information regarding the area to be designed along with preferred days for your appointment. Not all questions in the questionnaire require a response – please complete as many as you are able.
Upon receiving your completed questionnaire, we will respond with a call within 2-3 weeks (based on the volume of requests we receive). This call will be to set up the appointment and answer any questions you may have.
4. Photos:
As part of the questionnaire, you will be required to attach three (3) photos of the space you want designed.
Important: The first picture should be taken so the entire area to be designed is shown in one photo (for example, the entire front of your home). It may feel like you are standing too far away, but we need the entire area in the photo for the digital design. The photo should also be straight-on.
The two additional photos should be taken from angles: one from the left and one from the right of the space to be designed.
5. Appointments are scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. Please note that availability may vary.
6. We Plan, You Plant Does Not Include:
- We do not include planning/design for irrigation, lighting, lawns, ponds, pools, etc. If you need a more complex plan, we can provide names of companies that may be able to assist you.
- Delivery and Installation services are not included in the We Plan, You Plant service; please see Delivery and Installation for details on these services. (You may use your $450 store credit toward these services if you choose.) We do not provide planting/installation for plants that are in pots smaller than 15 gallons.
- We do not provide service to commercial sites/businesses.

2. The purchase of a $300 store credit is required to set an appointment. This credit can then be applied to anything you purchase at Kerby’s Nursery, including the plants you select for your design. The entire amount of $300 is a credit for you to use; we do not take a fee for this service.

This form will ask you for information regarding the area to be designed along with preferred times for your appointment.
