I wonder how many of you play Wordle. I don’t know why I enjoy it so much, it’s a wildly simple game. 6 guesses to figure out a 5-letter word. And kind of like the old game Mastermind®! After each guess, you are told if you have a correct letter in the wrong place or a correct letter in the right place. I think one of the reasons I like Wordle so much (besides being a nerd for word games) is that you get one each day. One little word puzzle. It usually only takes a couple of minutes to complete and feels like a nice little distraction.
And because I am a Type A person, I’m always looking for a goal. I can generally solve the puzzle, with the occasional word stumping me (especially ones with lots of options like catch, match, latch, patch, watch…) So lately, my goal has been to get my total number of times I’ve guessed the right word in three guesses higher than the number of times I’ve guessed the correct word in four guesses. I don’t know why. This is really a “way to procrastinate and not do the work you should be doing” kind of thing. I’m sure you are guilty of that from time to time. Anyhow, last week I finally got enough words right in 3 guesses to just squeak past the number I’ve guessed in four. Does it matter? Nope. But, hey, I set a goal, and I achieved it. And now I have to wait another day to play Wordle again.
But there is no waiting for the garden! There are always things to do, and here in March, it’s peak garden season. The weather is perfect, the sun is out, and the flowers are blooming. What are you waiting for? There are trees and shrubs to plant, flowers aplenty to create gorgeous container gardens, and it’s not too late to get a veggie garden started.
We loved getting to celebrate spring gardening with all of you who joined us for Spring Fling last Saturday. We had a delightful time – and it didn’t rain! Thank you for coming out!
And don’t forget to watch our social media feeds this Saturday for an announcement. With so much going on, you might just forget to play Wordle for a day.
P.S. What Wordle really says about me is that I am old, as pointed out in a recent video by the Holderness Family. Enjoy.
