Easter Lily Care

It’s Easter Lily season! But how can you extend the life of these fragrant flowers? Here are some tips.

If you’re keeping it inside, place it in bright indirect light. If it’s going outside in our grow zone, we recommend shade or filtered light.

Keep your Easter Lily moist but not soaking wet, never let it dry out completely. Water once the first inch of soil dries out.

Use a slow-release, granular fertilizer designed for flowering plants. Osmocote® or our Kerby’s Special 8-4-8 work well.

Make sure to remove the yellow anthers from the center of the flower to maintain maximum freshness.

After the plant is done blooming and the leaves have expired, carefully dig up the bulb, remove any damaged roots or new bulbs, place the bulb in fresh soil, water thoroughly, and keep it in bright light. As for tiny new bulbs that grow off the main bulb, you can plant those in the soil a few inches deep with the roots facing down to try to propagate.

And don’t forget, our annual Easter Egg Hunt is this Saturday at 10am sharp. We’ll also have a toddler section so they’re not overwhelmed by the older kids. See ya soon!

Anybody can sell you plants, we make sure you succeed.
