You can grow just about anything in a hanging basket, but sometimes it requires a little finesse. Here are a couple of tips.

Hanging baskets dry out pretty fast, mostly because there’s less space to hold moisture. If the basket is outside in the sun, check the soil a few times a week and give it a nice drink until it drains. Indoor or shade baskets can usually go longer between drinks.

And because of necessary frequent waterings, nutrients are quick to drain from the container. Fertilize as needed with an appropriate formula. Slow-release Osmocote® is a great option for any basket.

And if the baskets ever feel too crowded, simply split the plants and plant them elsewhere in your garden. Most hanging baskets come with several cuttings or plugs.
