Join the Kerby's Team

We know that plants make people happy and healthy. Just a few minutes each day with plants increases positive feelings and reduces stress. Why not work in that environment each day?

At Kerby’s, you’ll not only get to work among flowers, trees, shrubs, and tropicals, you’ll also get to work with an amazing group of people. Here are some of the things that we think makes someone a good fit for Kerby’s:

1. You Love People. The plant world is filled with introverts that only love their plants. To work at Kerby’s, you’ve got to love plants, but you’ve got to love people more. Most positions involve talking to customers and connecting them with the right solutions for their gardens. And beyond customers, you’ve got to love working in a team environment and be willing to lend a hand to fellow staff members when needed.

2. You Love to Learn. If you love people, but aren’t secure in your plant knowledge, that’s OK. We can teach you about plants. What we can’t teach is a desire to learn. We are advocates of life-long learning and believe that finishing school isn’t the end of adding to what you know. You’ll get lots of opportunities to learn new things in a position at Kerby’s.

3. You Love to Be Outside. This is a requirement, because every one of our positions requires working out in the open air. We work when it’s hot, when it’s cold, and when it’s raining. If you don’t like being outside, working at Kerby’s will not be for you.

4. You Love to Get Dirty. Just about everything we do involves dirt, so you can’t be afraid of getting your hands dirty to work at Kerby’s.

Our positions for the spring season have been filled, but we are always on the lookout for the next great staff member. If you think you’d be a valuable addition to our team, fill out an application and e-mail it to [email protected] or bring it by the nursery. We look forward to meeting you.

What did you do as a child that made the hours pass like minutes? Herein lies the key to your earthly pursuits.
