We found a Black Swallowtail Caterpillar on some Fennel in our Butterfly House. As you can tell, these cuties are ferocious eaters. In one day, they can eat twice their weight in food because their body literally expands as they eat.
They’ll molt five times before pupating and will grow an inch and a half within a few weeks.
So keep on snacking, Little Caterpillar. We can’t wait for you to transform.
