Our cashiers put a quote on a signboard in the Farmhouse, and it’s something that I keep repeating to myself this Christmas. ‘May you never be too old to search the skies on Christmas Eve.’
Every Christmas when I was little, I remember coming home from Midnight Mass, and on the car ride at like two in the morning my siblings and I would scour the sky, looking for a hint of Rudolph’s red nose. With the airport so close, of course, it’s hard to tell the difference between a flying reindeer and an airplane. We’d stare and stare at every red light we found until we were certain we saw Rudolph heading our way. Once sighted, we made sure to hurry to our rooms when we got home because we didn’t want to be caught not asleep in our beds when Santa came to visit.
I hope that when you are outside at night this Christmas season, you find your eyes flitting to the sky, searching for that little red nose among the stars. That’s my Christmas wish for you this year and every year. May you never be too old to search the skies for a little Christmas magic.
From everyone at Kerby’s, we hope you have a very Merry Christmas. If you have any last-minute giving to do, we’ll be open through noon on Christmas Eve. For the Christmas holiday, we’ll be closed on both the 25th and the 26th and will reopen on the 27th at 9am. Have a great holiday and enjoy this magical time of year.
P.S. With the coldest Christmas since 1989 headed our way, you probably want to know how to protect your plants. See below for how to property keep plants warm during cold nights. If you are looking for materials, we are unfortunately out of frost blankets as of this time and don’t have a restock date.
