It’s been a few years since I started using the phrase Make Fall Happen at the Nursery. As we move out of September and into October, it really feels like it should be Fall. But between tropical weather, high humidity, and ongoing rain showers, it just doesn’t. And that’s when we have to make it happen. We may not have cool, crisp mornings, and our sweaters and jackets are going to have to stay in the closet for a little while longer, but we do live in Florida. A place so many people choose to come to vacation. It’s where we live, work, and play every day. So enjoy it. Plant some beautiful fall flowers and foliage. Grab some pumpkins, mums, and a bundle of corn stalks (see, we do have something in common with our northern neighbors!) to decorate your front porches, patios, and gardens for Fall in Florida.
For inspiration, here are a few of the front door vignettes that Jo created this past Saturday at her demonstration.
And for everyone that braved a rainy Saturday, two days post-hurricane, we really appreciate you coming out. It wasn’t quite the kickoff we wanted for Fall, but I think we at least got the season going. Since Fall here in Florida needs another little push, this Saturday we’re going to try to make it happen again. Here are some of the things we’ll have going on:
9:30 am Yoga in the Garden – buy tickets here
10 am – 1 pm Spellbound Sourdough will be selling her delicious baked goods
Ongoing throughout the day (and any day that we are open!):
Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt – can you find them all?
Pumpkin Wall for your Fall Family Photo
Pumpkin Patch – to pick out unique gourds and pumpkins to add fall vibes to your home and garden.
We can’t change the weather, but we can get into the Fall Spirit. Let’s make it happen together.
