Three Houseplant Care Tips for the Winter

1. Cut back on watering. With shorter, cooler days, your plants are likely to maintain moisture longer and not dry out as fast. It might seem crazy, but you may even go a few weeks without watering certain easy-care plants, such as Pothos, Sansevierias, or Z-Zs.

2. Make sure to maintain humidity. Heated homes tend to have drier air, with humidity levels sitting around 10-20 percent. Tropical houseplants need around 40-50 percent humidity levels. Cluster plants together or use a pebble tray to help raise humidity.

3. Pay attention to sunlight. You may need to move your plants closer to the window if they’re suddenly receiving little to no indirect sunlight due to the shorter days. Remember to rotate your plants so all sides receive some rays.
